Sarnia Asset Management’s focus is to give high-net-worth individuals and family offices from around the world access to high-performing, niche funds.
Our company was founded on a very simple premise.
Many high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs) and family offices from around the world find themselves caught between opaque and illiquid products with high fees and poor liquidity (private equity, venture capital etc.), on the one hand, and retail-oriented products with a tendency to over-diversify and exhibit a high correlation to the wider market, on the other.
We give our investors access to products that bring the best elements of both: the high return potential and concentrated portfolios typical of private equity combined with the regular liquidity of a mutual fund.
Our business is built on the following three major pillars:
Our people
Right from its inception, our company has brought together some of Europe’s brightest minds in investment management. Two of its co-founders have pedigree when it comes to building a successful fund management business, and our CEO has built a 25-year track record in managing start-ups, turnarounds and funds.
Our investment ethos
Our funds are built with two things in mind: appreciation of capital and its preservation. To achieve this, we follow three guiding principles: we believe truly active management can be superior to passive investing; we develop an informational advantage on all our investments; and we run concentrated portfolios based on high conviction levels.
Our Guernsey domicile
With our Guernsey domicile, we are open to investors from more than 100 jurisdictions. Guernsey’s unique combination of a can-do attitude and rigorous financial standards is integral to our identity and enable us to design products that meet our clients’ needs, while its long history of political stability offers our investors the peace of mind they need when it comes to the safe keeping of their investments.
We believe these three factors give us the perfect formula to fulfil our mission of bringing our uncompromising approach to fund management in a world where high-conviction managers with a proven track record have become difficult to find.
Our funds are built with two things in mind: appreciation of capital and its preservation.
At Sarnia Asset Management, we have gathered a team of high-calibre investment professionals providing the right mix of long-standing capital market experience, original thinking, and high-conviction ideas. This in turn is supported by a sound regulatory regime, which enables us to pursue our mission with unparalleled focus.
Our first fund is due to launch very soon. If you’d like more information on our upcoming suite of investment products, please contact [email protected].
