12 noon – 2.30pm
Location: Alfred Tennyson pub, Belgravia, Central London
Harris Kupperman has built an “inflection investing” hedge fund with over USD 200m in AuM. A substantial portion of that AuM has come in some part from his blog and Twitter account, where he has over 100,000 combined followers. In his view, the old capital intro model is dying and using social media and other digital content to build genuine relationships with investors is the way forward.
“Kuppy”, as he is known in the industry, holds strong views about just how difficult it is to start a fund. Not only does he have a lot of experience in being a portfolio manager, but he has learned many of the ins and outs of building a fund management business through his own experience.
He has kindly agreed to share his wisdom with us during a lunch that will entail a presentation about his learnings from building his own firm, followed by Q&A and a free-ranging debate of our industry and entrepreneurial challenges.
Swen Lorenz, CEO of Sarnia Asset Management, will also share his insights and learnings.
Subjects we will touch upon include:
The discussion’s main findings will be used for an article on our website to benefit those who cannot attend.
This event is exclusively for owners and employees of fund management businesses, and for portfolio managers who are interested in the business-side of running a fund. We vet every participant’s background and attendance is GBP 100 per person to pay for expenses.
Please email James Faulkner to register your interest. This event is limited to a maximum of 12 participants.
The venue is Alfred Tennyson pub at 10 Motcomb St, Belgravia, SW1X 8LA.
